I recently taught a High School Introduction to BASIC ASL and Deaf Culture course, working with about 25 students from grades 9 through 12. The class met during their prime period over the course of six weeks. These students demonstrated incredible enthusiasm and dedication, absorbing a great deal of knowledge about American Sign Language and the rich cultural heritage of the Deaf community. Their progress reflected a strong commitment to learning and an openness to understanding Deaf culture, making the teaching experience highly rewarding.
