Who is Loree ?
Hello! My name is Loree from Mechanicsburg, PA.I am Deaf and utilize American Sign Language (ASL) as my primary mode of communication. My background includes an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degree in Office Technology from the Rochester Institute of Technology, where I developed strong technical and administrative skills. Following that, I earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Sociology with a minor in Special Education. This academic foundation provided me with insights into social systems and the unique needs of individuals with disabilities. I furthered my education by obtaining a Master's degree in Deaf Education, equipping me with specialized knowledge and methods to effectively teach and support deaf and hard-of-hearing students. This combination of qualifications positions me to positively impact diverse learning environments. In addition to ASL, I practice total communication, which incorporates facial expressions, body language, and written language to convey messages effectively. Voicing is also part of my communication repertoire; I may voice certain words or phrases to enhance understanding, particularly in environments where ASL may not be as accessible. I am certified in the state of Maryland and Pennsylvania in American Sign Language and Deaf and Hard of Hearing. My communication style is adaptable, designed to bridge the gap between the Deaf and hearing communities, ensuring that my message is clear and comprehensible to all. I have four children, one of whom is my angel. I also share my home with two dogs. Alongside my family responsibilities, I run Stylish Bella custom plus more as a side business. Professionally, I serve as a Deaf Hard of Hearing substitute teacher and work as an ASL and Mentor tutor. My focus is on supporting American Sign Language interpreters, students, parents, and coworkers. I provide workshops covering various aspects of Deaf Culture and teach American Sign Language from basic levels up to advanced. Furthermore, I assist interpreters in preparing for testing, particularly in the areas of fingerspelling and receptive skills. I part time two jobs such as ASL High School for IU8 and Adjunct Professor at PSU in Harrisburg, PA. During my free time, I'm a craft junkie, enjoy strolls and hiking, learn new things daily, attend church, and volunteer at church and school and take workshops through Deaf Academic for personal and business growth when opportunities arise. I also love to travel to create memories, enjoy the beach, and spend quality time with family and friends, traveling once or twice a year.
